Confirming that your Microsoft 365 Environment Supports Dataverse for Teams

Goal

Before we begin building our attendance application, we need to determine whether your Microsoft 365 environment supports Dataverse for Teams.

One way to verify this is to see whether Power Apps (Preview) can be added as a tab in a Microsoft Teams channel.

If it can, then your organization likely supports Dataverse for Teams and we can continue with the tutorial.

Step 1 — Create a New Team

If you already have a Team dedicated to this project, you can use it instead.

Otherwise:

  • Give the Team a meaningful name.
  • Click the New button.
  • Select New team.
